David Buller, a 15 year veteran teaching at the University of Toronto was found murdered shortly before 7:00 am in his art studio at 1 Spadina Crescent, the morning of Jan. 19, 2001 by a caretaker.

Police believe the murder happened on January 18, 2001. David was last seen on January 18, 2001 in the elevator at 1 Spadina, around 1:00 PM, but did not attend his 6:00 PM lecture. An autopsy on the weekend confirmed Buller had died of stab wounds to the chest.

David Buller was a U of T visual art lecturer in the faculty of Fine Art, who received degrees from the Ontario College of Art and Design, and Concordia University. The 50 year-old artist had been teaching at the university for 15 years.

David was a "cool uncle" to his nieces and nephew, keen on Frisbee in the park, sledding on strips of cardboard, summer trips to the Ex. He leaves behind a sister who works as a nurse, as well as a 90-year-old mother.
