Michael Calcaterra was killed on April 17, 2004 in his home, his mouth, hands, and legs were bound with duct tape and he was found seated and bound to a metal folding chair. Michael was shot two times in the left temple area. There was no sign of forced entry. Nothing in the home had been disturbed. Michael was last seen alive the night before at his job at Papa John's. No one knows exactly how late Michael worked Friday night but Michael was usually the person that closed the store and he would arrive at his home around 3am. Michael's mother last spoke with him by phone at approx. 11:30 PM on April 16, 2004. Michael had a roommate who had just recently moved in with him. The roommate stated to Michael's family that he was in Tampa for the weekend at the time of the homicide. Michael owned a car and a van which were parked in the driveway. Michael and his wife were separated at the time of his homicide. Michael loved his two daughters and took care of them Monday through Friday. Michael also attended the University of North Florida located in Jacksonville working towards a law degree.
