Name: Marilyn Cox
Place:Tucson, Arizona
Age: 63 years old at time of death
Description: White Female

Case Details:

On May 7, 2003 Marilyn and her long time friend and neighbor, ReNee Farnsworth, were returning from dropping off Marilyn's grand daughter, when a man approached the vehicle and shot and killed Marilyn and ReNee in Marilyn's drive way

On August 20, 2000, Linda Watson, Marilyn's 32 year old daughter was abducted at their home, after returning from church services. Further details can be found in Linda Watson's case file.

Since Linda's abduction, Marilyn had to fight for visitation rights to see her grand daughter. Marilyn had just won those rights in a landmark decision by the Arizona Courts in January 2003. She was finally given visitation. But e-mails now being reviewed by investigators suggest Marilyn complained her ex son-in-law made it difficult for her to see or speak to the child. Family and friends as well as Marilyn's lawyer in the custody case have expressed that Marilyn was afraid for her life and told her family if she too disappeared it would not be willingly.

A neighbor heard shots and went out into his yard. He saw a man running from the scene. The suspect then stopped running, looked straight at the man for a few seconds, then began running again. Another witness saw the suspect get into a White SUV type vehicle, make a U-turn and speed off.

Suspect Information

The suspect is described as male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a black, hooded, sweatshirt with the hood up. He was seen getting into a white SUV type vehicle.
