Case Details:

On Friday April 5, 1985 Morris Davis Jr. was sent to 1015 6th Ave. in Great Falls, Montana around 9 PM to deliver a pizza. Morris was shot several times and was found just inside the sliding glass doors of the home. The wallet containing the pizza money was taken but his personal wallet and coin changer was not. Several casings were found at the scene.

A man was said to have ordered the pizza and the police believe the suspect broke in the back door of the vacant house and waited for the delivery man to arrive. A witness saw Morris on the porch of the vacant house and his delivery van in front of the house around 9:20 PM. A second delivery driver from Howard's Pizza was dispatched to 1015 6th Ave. after Morris failed to make radio contact with the pizza shop. Police and an ambulance were called immediately, and unknown to all involved, Morris's brother was one of the attendant's on the ambulance. Morris was pronounced dead shortly after 11 PM. The weather that night was cold and it was snowing.

Morris was loved by his family and friends. He lived with his parents and worked part-time for Howard's pizza and occasionally worked as a bouncer for the J-Bar-T, and the Mint Saloon in the Rainbow Hotel. Morris loved stock cars, his dog, and was well liked in the community.

The Great Falls Police Department issued the following statement:

"The Great Falls Police Department in Great Falls, Montana is investigating a homicide that occurred on April 5, 1985. The suspects in this case called in an order for a home delivered pizza. The pizza was then delivered to a house which had been vacant for several months. Upon entry into the house, the victim was then shot several times with a small caliber handgun or rifle, and the money on his person stolen. It is believed that the motive for the crime was robbery and that there was not an intent to commit murder. An FBI profile of the case suggests that the person who shot the victim was acting out of paranoia and reasonably believed that the victim could later identify the robbery suspect."

"The weapon used in the homicide has not been recovered. The Great Falls Police Department has the bullets and bullet casings that can be used to positively identify the weapon should it be recovered. The Police Department also has sensitive information concerning a number of suspects, type of pizza ordered and the amount of times the victim was shot. The recovery of the weapon and persons willing to provide details that match our sensitive information is crucial to the investigation."
