Case Details: Joseph J DiMare, 52, was brutally beaten and shot in the head 3 times in Miami Florida on March 24, 1961. Joseph and his current wife were on their way to dinner approx 7:20 pm. They were stopped for a light at N. Bayshore Dr. and NE 123rd St., when two men jumped into their 1961 White Cadillac. Mrs. DiMare was driving and was forced to drive to a secluded new development called the San Souci Estates where the murder of Mr. Joseph DiMare took place. Joseph's Murder happened in the family car on the way to dinner with Joseph's current wife driving the vehicle. The time of the murder was 7:23PM on March 24,1961. The couple lived in North Miami Florida on the Keystone Islands. The couple left their residence at 2240 Arch Creek Drive, Keystone Island #4, at approximately 6pm and drove the 2 miles to the entrance of the Broad Causeway and 125th Street. Two men entered the family auto at that traffic light and forced Joseph's wife to drive past the San Souci Marina to a secluded area where Joseph was beaten and shot to death. Information not verified by the police but suspected by the family: The family believes Joseph was killed with his own gun, a Sata .25 self loading semiautomatic gun, serial number 4523. The family reported the gun missing from it's customary place in the master bedroom of the couple the day after the murder took place. If you have any information, please contact: Det.
