A body was found on February 25, 1993 at 1.5 miles north on Old Cranes Mill Road off of Hwy#46 in Canyon Lake, Texas by a road crew and was reported to the New Braunfels Police and Comal County Sheriff's Office. The body was listed as a Jane Doe. The body was identified through fingerprints a year later as Emily Jeanette Garcia who had been missing since the 12th of February 1993 from San Antonio.

Emily had a juvenile record and had spent time in Juvenile Detention in San Antonio, Texas and also the MAUC Unit in San Antonio, Texas. She had been on probation at the time of her disappearance.

Cause of death was asphyxia due to ligature strangulation, blunt injury to the head, abrasions of vagina, rectum and skin. Emily was 3 months pregnant according to the coroner's report. There were no sign's of drugs in her system.
