Case Details:
On May 23, 2004 at approximately 8:15 PM, Jason Janek and Kevin Abul-Husn went out to have a beer together and planned to return to their homes in Whiting, Indiana, shortly afterwards. The men were last seen at "Bar-Rio" on 1249 121st Street in Whiting.
On May 25th at around 4:00 am, an officer patrolling the area saw Jason's blue Ford F-150 pickup truck speeding and started to follow it. The officer lost track of the truck after it turned left on Indianapolis Blvd to 142nd Ave, but they found it about 10 minutes later near the 4200 block of South Magoum St. in East Chicago, Indiana. The officer then discovered the bodies of the 2 victims dead in the bed of the truck. Both victims had been shot in the head and wrapped in plastic.
Police would like to speak to three persons of interest. Their names are:
1. Eric Stephen Valdivia 29 years old, hispanic male, 5'5" 200 lbs, black hair brown eyes. Is beleived to have fled to Mexico.
2. Alfonso "Fonse" Chavez 29 year old hispanic male, 5' 11", 190 pounds, black hair and brown eyes
3. Melicio Maravilla Jr. 28 year old male, 5" 11", 195 pounds, black hair, brown eyes. He wears very thick glasses. He is also believed to be in Mexico and may go to Laredo Texas.
