Case Details: "Popes Island Jane Doe" was found in the water by dock B, bay 63 at Pope's Island Marina shortly before 8 a.m on October 30, 1996. She had been beaten and shot. The woman was wrapped in two large, green garbage bags secured with what appeared to be either tape or wide streams of plastic. The body was also wrapped in a green and white blanket. Investigators said the body could have been dumped in the water elsewhere, with strong currents pushing it to the marina. She was discovered shortly before 8 a.m and authorities believe the woman was in the water one or two days.
