On March 8, 1997 24 year old Melissa Strickland's body was found at 3:20am on 2100 East Corona St. on the north side of the street, in Phoenix, Arizona. Melissa died as a result of blunt force trauma to her body.

Earlier that evening, Melissa was with friends and was last seen at approximately 1am at the Circle K store at 16th and Broadway. Melissa just suddenly disappeared.
